Prior to the start of this season, the NBA made the decision to change the format of the All-Star game will the players selected being put up in a draft-style layout.

Beyond that, there hasn't exactly been much context to how the selection process will be conducted. During a recent interview with NBC Sports Washington's “Wizards Tipoff” podcast, Washington Wizards star All-Star point guard John Wall voiced that he believes it should be televised, according to Victoria Nguyen of the Final Score.

“I think it should be televised,” Wall said on NBC Sports Washington's “Wizards Tipoff” podcast.

“If you made the All-Star Game, it should be televised who is going to be on what team. I don't think you should call them and then wait until everybody sees who will be an All-Star. They should let it be known. We're grown men, like (LeBron) said. If they ain't pick you, they ain't pick you.”

This will more than likely be the expected route given what could unfold over the draft process with different storylines. This could place certain ex-teammates such as LeBron James and Kyrie Irving on the same or even Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook reuniting once again on the same team in the All-Star Game format.

On top of that, this could be another way the NBA can make additional profit by drawing in sponsors for the actual drafting of the All-Star players on each team. The league has typically gone this route with situations like this in the past.

The voting for the 2018 All-Star Game is set to begin on Thursday for the contest that will be held at Staples Center for the first time since 2011.
