Shaheen Holloway became one of the hottest NCAA coaching candidates virtually overnight. The Saint Peter's Peacocks head coach is now the target of some larger basketball schools amid the success of his four-year tenure with Saint Peter's.

Kevin Willard to Maryland and Dennis Gates to Missouri both expected to be done in the next day or so, Shaheen Holloway likely to replace Willard at Seton Hall and Baylor assistant Jerome Tang firmly in mix at Kansas State.

Shaheen Holloway has personal ties to Seton Hall. The Saint Peter's coach played the full four years on their basketball team from 1996-2000. He had career averages of 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game as a 5'10” point guard while shooting at 37.4% from the field and a shade over 30% from the three-point line.
The Saint Peter's Peacocks are in the midst of their greatest basketball season in the school's history. It took four seasons for Shaheen Holloway to go from a 10-22 team back in 2018-19 to the 21-11 conference tournament champion and now everyone's favorite cinderella and the current face of March Madness.
Saint Peter's has made the NCAA tournament just thrice in the past, never making it beyond the round of 32. With their win over the Murray State Racers in the second round, they've now punched their ticket to the Sweet 16. Shaheen Holloway could potentially move on after this season, but their job is far from done as far as he's concerned.
