The college football season is getting down to the very end as teams battle for position in the race to the College Football Playoff. Everyone at the top of the rankings will get one more chance to impress the CFP committee before conference championship weekend. For some, it will be the last chance to make an impression.

A few surprise teams have some damage control to do and would be wise to grab an impressive win in Week 14. Alabama picked up its third loss in a shocking 24-3 rout at the hands of Oklahoma. Ole Miss faltered down in The Swamp, losing 24-17 to Florida for its third loss. Deion Sanders and Colorado saw their conference title hopes take a massive hit as Kansas ran all over them 37-21. Indiana was humbled on the road against Ohio State.

As a result, Georgia has secured its spot in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game, and Kenny Dillingham and Arizona State are in control in a wild Big 12 with just one week to play.

Here are the selection committee's full rankings ahead of Week 14.

  1. Oregon (11-0)
  2. Ohio State (10-1)
  3. Texas (10-1)
  4. Penn State (10-1)
  5. Notre Dame (10-1)
  6. Miami (FL) (10-1)
  7. Georgia (9-2)
  8. Tennessee (9-2)
  9. SMU (10-1)
  10. Indiana (10-1)
  11. Boise State (10-1)
  12. Clemson (9-2)
  13. Alabama (8-3)
  14. Ole Miss (8-3)
  15. South Carolina (8-3)
  16. Arizona State (9-2)
  17. Tulane (9-2)
  18. Iowa State (9-2)
  19. BYU (9-2)
  20. Texas A&M (8-3)
  21. Missouri (8-3)
  22. UNLV (9-2)
  23. Illinois (8-3)
  24. Kansas State (8-3)
  25. Colorado (8-3)

These CFP rankings set up two huge matchups this upcoming weekend. On Saturday morning, No. 15 South Carolina will take on No. 12 Clemson in a game that could have huge playoff implications. South Carolina has a chance to pick up a top 15 road win to boost its resume while Clemson can get its 10th win of the season against a quality SEC team. On top of that, Dabo Swinney and Clemson still have an outside chance to reach the ACC Championship if Miami falters this week.

There will also be a huge clash on Saturday night in College Station between No. 3 Texas and No. 20 Texas A&M. This game will decide who travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, so there are major stakes in the renewal of a great college football rivalry.

Winning this game and the title game is likely Texas A&M's only path to the CFP, so it is crucial that it picks up a win here. On the other side, Texas is probably safe in the bracket, but its lack of quality wins could force it to play a first-round game on the road if it were to lose.

One other storyline to watch is who the fifth conference champion is. Boise State will probably be the No. 4 seed with two more wins, but the final automatic bid is up for grabs. The Big 12 has five teams near the bottom of the rankings, and they are all circling the AAC leader Tulane at No. 17. If the Big 12 champion ends up with three losses, the Green Wave will have a very convincing argument to get an automatic bid into the field.
