Michigan football recruiting was awfully quiet during the past few months after winning a national title, but it is starting to ramp up. The Wolverines have landed a few big commitments in their 2025 class recently, and they just picked up an elite quarterback from the 2026 class. Four-star Brady Hart is joining Michigan as he announced his commitment on Tuesday. The Wolverines are finding their stride on the recruiting trail.

“BREAKING: Four-Star QB Brady Hart (2026) has Committed to Michigan, he tells me for @on3recruits,” Hayes Fawcett said in a tweet. “The 6’5 190 QB from Melbourne, FL chose the Wolverines over LSU, Clemson, & Ohio State Ranked as a Top 10 QB in ‘26 (per On3 Industry) ‘Michigan is Home!! GoBlue.'”

First off, this recruit has the perfect name for Michigan football. Tom Brady and Mike Hart are two Wolverines legends, and Brady Hart is hoping to have a similar career as those two.

This is a great pickup for Michigan as they can check off QB for their 2026 class, and Hart is also one of the top QB prospects in the entire class. He is a four-star recruit according to 247 Sports, and he is ranked #92 in the 2026 class. He is the #7 QB in class and the #15 player in the state of Florida. Hart currently attends Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida. He has two more years of high school to go before he will come to Michigan.

The Wolverines just won a national championship, and that is one of the best recruiting tools a team can have. That was big for Hart. He wants to be on one of the best teams in college football, and right now, Michigan is one of those teams.

Jim Harbaugh is no longer the head coach, but Hart is confident that the new coaching staff will keep things strong. Sherrone Moore is the new head coach, and he believes that the winning ways in Ann Arbor will continue.

“Coach (Sherrone) Moore and coach (Kirk) Campbell and the whole staff really believe they’re going to keep winning and that’s huge for me,” Hart said, according to a tweet from Rivals. “The ability to win is a huge thing for me and the ability to win at a high level and compete for a national championship every year is huge and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

The future looks bright for Michigan at the QB position

JJ McCarthy was the starting QB for the Michigan football team during the past two seasons, but he was taken in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. McCarthy was terrific for the Wolverines, and he will be difficult to replace. However, the future does look bright for Michigan at the position. QB coach Kirk Campbell has been putting in work recruiting for the future.

The Wolverines will likely have Alex Orji as their starter next year, and there is a lot of talent behind him. Michigan now has 2024 QB Jadyn Davis (#9 QB in class), 2025 QB Carter Smith (#14 QB) and 2026 QB Brady Hart (#7 QB).

It will be interesting to see what the mobile Orji can do if he wins the starting job, but when his time eventually does come to an end in Ann Arbor, there is a lot of talent behind him. Kirk Campbell has done a good job on the recruiting trail.
