Out of all the Week 6 matchups in college football, none will have as big of an impact on the current playoff race than the matchup between No. 3 Iowa and No. 4 Penn State.
The Nittany Lions will be traveling to Iowa City and a raucous Kinnick Stadium for the primetime contest. Penn State head coach James Franklin, per The Gazette, isn't looking forward to the trip to Iowa City.
“There's not a whole lot I look forward to going to Iowa City. I am looking forward to the hospital, and waving to those children, but that's the only thing I'm looking forward to, but it will be a tremendous challenge.”
Franklin has watched tape of Iowa and he notices one big thing when preparing Penn State for this matchup and it's the defense that the Hawkeyes bring to the table.
“That defensive coordinator has been doing a really good job. And what's amazing is, you've turned on the tape from yesterday, turn on tape from six years ago, you turn tape off for 12 years ago, they do what they do, and they do it well. The fact that they're always in zone coverage and they always have eyes on the quarterback. They have these massive defensive linemen that are able to get pressure and bat balls down.”
Iowa – Penn State will have serious playoff implications on the line as both teams have surprised many with their fast starts through five weeks of the college football season.
