New Brooklyn Nets signing Blake Griffin has called his dunk over former Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins “the most memorable dunk” of his career.

In a wide ranging AMA with Bleacher Report, Griffin singled out the monster slam over Perkins as his favorite after being asked what the most memorable dunk of his career was.

“The one on Kendrick Perkins. He was such a defensive minded player and he always had the scowl on his face so that makes it a little bit sweeter,” the new Nets forward said.

The dunk took place in the game between the Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Centre on Jan. 30, 2012, with Griffin receiving a pass from Chris Paul just outside the key before slamming the ball with one hand over a bewildered Perkins.

But despite the fond memories of the dunk by Griffin, Perkins wasn't as complimentary towards Griffin, especially over his recent move to the Nets.

The former player for the Thunder as well as the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans said on Twitter that Griffin “did not move the needle for what the Nets need” when asked if his move changed the odds of Brooklyn claiming their first NBA championship.

Meanwhile, Griffin also commented on his dunk from the 2011 dunk contest, in which he famously jumped over the hood of a Kia Optima.

User raidersletmedown asked the six-time All-Star why he didn't jump over the middle of the car instead, to which the Nets big man replied:

Next time you see a Kia Optima, just take a look at the car and get an idea of how high that is. I should have jumped over the whole thing and Baron Davis who was throwing me the ball, I don't know what I was thinking. People don't love that dunk and I get it. I gotta be better next time.”

Blake Griffin also added that he would like to see the dunk contest changed in the future to incorporate every participant dunking the same amount of times and getting rid of the current round-robin format, as well as adding his dream 6-man dunk contest that would feature Vince Carter, Michael Jordan, Aaron Gordon, Zach LaVine, Dominique Wilkins and Nate Robinson.
