Pencil Orlando Magic guard/forward Mario Hezonja as another one of the Brooklyn Nets' many offseason targets, according to Brian Lewis of The New York Post. The Sacramento Kings have also recently reported interest in the Croatian international.

The Nets have showed deep interest in the international marksman, as well as in his teammate, Aaron Gordon, who is set to be a restricted free agent this offseason.

“Hezonja hasn’t lived up to his billing as the No. 5 pick in 2015, but the Nets have liked him for some time and are known to do the reclamation-project thing. After acquiring the No. 2 (D’Angelo Russell) and No. 3 (Jahlil Okafor) picks in that same draft, and the No. 8 pick from 2014 (Nik Stauskas), Hezonja could be the latest roll of the dice.”

Hezonja had his best season in the NBA in 2017-18, mostly due to the opportunity. The 6-foot-7 tweener benefitted from injuries to Terrence Ross and Evan Fournier, getting some playing extra time along with some starts to showcase his talent.

The 23-year-old can shoot the ball from distance and drive the ball well, as well as finish elusively with his underrated athleticism — two assets that play right to the Nets front office's preferences.

Hezonja could be a relatively cheap commodity to have in a market that is expected to dry up after the big-time targets have been signed to max-level deals.
