The Brooklyn Nets have picked up the fourth-year options on D'Angelo Russell and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, as well as Caris LaVert's third-year option, ESPN’s Adam Reisinger reports.

All three players will now be under contract with the Nets through the 2018-19 season and could potentially be more long-term pieces to Brooklyn’s core moving forward.

D'Angelo Russell, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 draft, is set to play his first season with the Nets after getting traded with Timofey Mozgov from the Los Angeles Lakers this summer.

Russell, 21, averaged 15.6 points and 4.8 assists with the Lakers last season and is expected to develop into a star for the Nets. He’s currently having a strong preseason, averaging 17 points, four assists, and two steals in nearly 24 minutes per game through four contests.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, 22, started 50 games for the Nets last season and has been valuable in terms of his ability to defend multiple positions. However, he has yet to develop a consistent jump shot and an offensive game as a whole.

Meanwhile, Caris LeVert, 23, showed some promise in his rookie year last season on both ends of the floor. He will have more competition for playing time this year with the additions of Russell and Allen Crabbe to the Nets rotation.
