Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving's stance on the COVID-19 vaccine is well known at this point. Irving has refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine, a stance that has resulted in him becoming a part-time player for the Nets in road games due to New York's vaccine mandate. The Nets star has come under fire for his vaccine stance from all areas. The latest to comment on Irving is his former college coach at Duke, Mike Krzyzewski. Krzyzewski has a message for Irving amid the COVID-19 vaccine drama, via NJ Advance Media.

“I love Kyrie and he should follow his heart in what he’s doing and figure out how that impacts the group that he’s with and then you make decisions on what you feel is right, what you feel the group needs and so I hope that that’s what takes place but I’ll be behind him all the way.”

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski wants Nets star Kyrie Irving to “follow his heart” and assess how his decisions impact “the group that he's with.” It sure sounds like Krzyzewski is saying- without saying- that he hopes Irving reevaluates his COVID-19 vaccine stance but that he'll back him either way.

Hopefully, someone like Krzyzewski, who built a relationship with Irving while he was at Duke, can reach the Nets star with these remarks.

However, judging by Irving's recent comments, that might be wishful thinking.
