ESPN's Jackie MacMullan, who wrote a story on Tuesday saying the Brooklyn Nets have an “unspoken concern” about point guard Kyrie Irving’s “infamous mood swings,” is now detailing how happy Irving is in Brooklyn.

MacMullan covered Irving with the Boston Celtics last season, where Uncle Drew wasn't that cheerful behind the scenes. Irving signed a four-year deal with the Nets this summer. The All-Star guard grew up a Nets fan while living in New Jersey and is able to play in front of family, something which is very important to Irving:

“I was in Brooklyn for about four days and he’s happy as I’ve seen him, maybe ever,” MacMullan said on the Dan LeBetard show, via Nets Daily. “He [Kyrie] is taking the time to be with the younger players. He’s engaging with them. He won the game for them the other night, almost won the game for them on opening night.”

Irving is one of the most mercurial players in the NBA. This is the same guy who requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers after playing in three straight Finals and left the Celtics after telling fans he was going to stay.

In Brooklyn, Irving is playing with his two pals, Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan — although Durant is widely expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from his Achilles tear.

The Nets are 1-2 on the young season. They lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves on opening night despite Irving scoring 50 points. Brooklyn defeated the New York Knicks, but followed that up with a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
