With all the talk surrounding the impending return of Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant, it feels like Durant himself is the one person who hasn't actually had an opinion on when he will be able to take the court again. Well, that's exactly what Durant did on Tuesday — somewhat — when he opened up about his potential comeback.

Durant went on Young Money Radio with Lil' Wayne, and the 10-time All-Star made it abundantly clear that he is no rush to return (h/t NetsDaily):

“It is what it is man. Everybody waiting on me to come back,” Durant said on the show. “A lot of emotions involved. So I get it. I understand the business now. But I’ll be back when it’s time.”

So much for a concrete update from the Nets star.

Over the weekend, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the two-time Finals MVP winner will not be returning this season under any circumstance. This tracks with what Durant's manager, Rich Kleiman, has consistently been saying. While Durant may not be offering up anything concrete here, he seems to be hinting that he won't be back.

Durant suffered an Achilles injury in the 2019 NBA Finals and has since been unable to take the floor. It's coming close to a year now since we last saw Durant on the hardwood, and based on these recent developments, we will likely need to wait a little bit longer.

For both Durant and the Nets, it's obvious that they see no merit in making a return this season, even with the possibility of it going deep into the summer. It appears they're focusing on Durant's comeback in 2020-21.
