Ernie Johnson is one of the best broadcasters in all of the NBA. This is exactly why the NBA on TNT host jumped on the opportunity to ask Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant for an update on his knee injury right before the 2022 NBA All-Star Game Draft started. Unfortunately for Johnson, KD was having none of it.
Durant had just one word to respond to EJ's request and it led to a very awkward next few seconds in the segment (h/t NBA on TNT on Twitter):
KD left @TurnerSportsEJ speechless with this answer 🤣 pic.twitter.com/EChGASRB2t

Johnson probably had a hint that Durant was going to react the way that he did when he was faced with a rather daunting question. The Nets superstar clearly isn't enjoying his time on the shelf and he was not in the mood to talk about it. This is Kevin Durant we're talking about here and he isn't exactly the most pleasant guy out there. Sorry, Ernie, but you should have known better. Then again, kudos to you for still going for it.
KD was diagnosed with an MCL sprain on his left knee in mid-January. He was given a four-to-six-week timetable, which would mean that he could potentially return by the end of this month or by early March. That is, of course, under the assumption that there are no setbacks in his rehab.
