Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash stated that Kevin Durant will be unavailable for their much-anticipated matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers tomorrow, Per Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.

The encouraging news from the same source is that Nash said Durant will most likely do some “very light” activities in practice. These will involve some strengthening exercises, but also some work on the court.

In the 19 games this season, Durant is putting up 29 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.4 blocks per contest for the Nets. He is one of the most lethal scorers to ever grace an NBA court. His combination of shooting, length, height, and ball-handling make him unguardable even for the league's best stoppers.

Durant can comfortably light it up from anywhere on the court and with high efficiency. Of Brooklyn's three stars, the others being Kyrie Irving and James Harden he is the one who is most reliable as an off-ball option.

Durant hasn't played since February 13th against the Warriors as he continues to nurse a minor hamstring issue.

The Nets are being very cautious with Durant as they have championship aspirations and are playing the long game. This is understandable as the former league-MVP suffered a devastating Achilles injury and was unable to play for the entirety of the 2019-2020 season. Brooklyn will need every minute of a healthy and well-rested Durant come playoff time, so they're making sure to take the proper steps in his recovery.
