Kevin Durant teamed up this offseason with his good friend Kyrie Irving on the Brooklyn Nets, sending the Golden State Warriors scrambling for a back-up plan, which they found in the form of a sign-and-trade for D’Angelo Russell.

However, recent news surrounding Irving makes him seem like a somewhat volatile character, though having “mood swings” and going through “funks” simply sounds being human to this writer. Still though, the narratives were swirling on Tuesday, and, at some point, they reached former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb.

McNabb had some thoughts on the matter, one of which was that Durant must be thinking that he made a mistake to leave a good thing in Golden State. Durant, who is not one to mince words on social media responded with a simple comeback. Here is the full thread from the two:

As you can see, Durant’s response was far more well-received than McNabb’s original, though the followers of Durant are more likely to be extremely active on social media.

Indeed, McNabb would do well to “relax,” as this is an issue that it was likely not necessary for him to chime in on. Sometimes, it’s best for a former athlete to not offer up his two cents’ worth on a topic, especially one as serious as mental health.

No matter what, Durant has already made his decision and seems quite happy with it, so why even delve into the issue when his team are only a handful of games into the season.

Perhaps we should all take Durant’s advice, at all times, and just “relax.”
