Kevin Durant woke up on Sunday and decided to be unstoppable. The Brooklyn Nets' scoring absolutely went on a tear over the weekend against the New York Knicks, dropping 53 points to lead his team to a 110-107 victory. And you bet, Mama Durant was all hyped up by his son's performance, even hopping on Twitter to react to KD's exploits.

Durant's “real MVP” surely loved the former NBA MVP's offensive mindset against the Knicks. Durant went 19/37 from the field and 11/12 from the foul line. He further stuffed the stat sheets with nine assists, six rebounds, and two steals in 43 minutes of action. Durant really had to put up a tremendous effort to carry the Nets, especially with Kyrie Irving unavailable.

The Nets have dropped back from the race to the top of the Eastern Conference standings following a brutal 11-game losing skid that stretched from January to February. But Durant and the Nets are starting to rise up again, having won all their last three outings, including the aforementioned meeting with the Knicks. Over that stretch, Durant has put up an average of 30.7 points on 52.2 percent shooting from the floor. When Durant is on, there's hardly anything opposing teams can do to stop him, which the Knicks could attest to.

With Durant in top form, the Nets will look to keep their winning ways going, as they hit the road again to face the Orlando Magic this coming Tuesday.
