Shams Charania of The Athletic has been coming up on the scene in being regarded as one of the top news-breakers in the NBA. He's highly respected, thanks to his ability to beat nearly every media outlet to the punch and his credibility with most inside sources. Let Kyrie Irving tell it though, Charania was still ready to risk it all after he apparently tried to sneak into the Brooklyn Nets' workouts in Los Angeles

According to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic, Irving recalled the situation and opened up to the media about it.

Kyrie Irving recently refused to speak to the media, which warranted a $25,000 fine. After giving in and speaking to reporters, Irving seemed to be prepared to spill all the beans about everything that has occurred since his prior time of addressing the media.

The six-time All-Star decided to “walk back” a number of statements on Monday, including his take on the head coach situation with the Nets. After going through so many workouts and practices with Steve Nash, Irving appeared to regret his statement on the team not having a true head coach.

While it's only the preseason, fans were salivating at the thought of watching Irving and Kevin Durant take the floor for the first time together on Sunday. Both stars didn't disappoint through their limited action. Irving was able to put 18 points while going 7-of-9 from the field through only 17 minutes. Durant echoed that stat line with 15 points, three rebounds, and two blocks for the Nets.

The Nets will get another chance to continue their meshing on Dec. 18 as they face the Boston Celtics for their last preseason game.
