Like his teammate Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving sometimes entertains himself by responding to his myriad of critics on social media.

On Wednesday, Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright reported on Twitter that Irving allegedly said he would just retire if the Nets trade him. Wright said Irving's representative told him this.

“There are a handful of Kyrie trades that potentially make sense for the Nets. Kyrie’s agents have made it known that Kyrie would simply ‘retire from the NBA' if Brooklyn were to trade him.”

As Wright's claim exploded, Irving quickly responded with a savage two-word description of the controversial analyst.

Someone call the fire brigade!

Wright immediately replied to Irving's insult, saying the All-Star guard shouldn't point his anger towards him since he only relayed what his sources told him.

Wright making a bold claim on Irving isn't exactly new. A few weeks ago, he suggested that the Nets should trade the former Duke standout to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons. While he acknowledged that this won't actually happen, he said Simmons would be a better fit for the Nets, as he could be more a facilitator alongside Durant and James Harden instead of being a heavy usage guy like Irving.

The powerhouse Nets are tipped to be the heavy favorite in the upcoming NBA season, especially with Durant, Irving, and Harden all fully healthy. But if their stars can't tune out all the distractions, they might have another disappointing exit.
