Another day, another player vouching for Carmelo Anthony's return to the NBA. Many have expressed their sentiments on how the former scoring champion deserves another crack at it in the NBA. This time, it's Anthony's former New York Knicks teammate Lance Thomas.

“I think the world is surprised (no team picked up Anthony),” Thomas said, per Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News. “I don’t know enough to speak on it. But I can speak on the character that Melo has, how hard he works, how great of a teammate he is. I think the world of him and I think that he does deserve a chance to lace them up again.”

Unlike Melo, Thomas' NBA career will continue to move forward. The Nets recently signed the 31-year old, who spent the previous five seasons with the Knicks.

This pitch for any team to take a chance on Anthony has really coursed its way through the off-season. It's astonishing, really, how the NBA has soured on the 10-time All-Star.

You see guys like Thomas still getting a call to play in the league. Yet, someone as decorated as Carmelo Anthony can't even get a single one from all 30 teams.

Many had been banking on the Nets to give Anthony a chance. Even their new stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving pitched that Brooklyn should sign him. However, they signed a different former Knicks forward instead.

This Melo drama will likely spill into the season. With the way things are going right now, it doesn't seem like an Anthony comeback tour is going to happen this season, if not, at all.
