Renowned NBA broadcaster Skip Bayless has chimed in on the recent bombshell Kyrie Irving dropped on the NBA. The seven-time All-Star decided on Monday that he would be picking up the player option of his deal with the Brooklyn Nets in 2022-23 for a cool $37 million.

For his part, however, Bayless suspects that Kevin Durant can't be totally pleased with this recent development. We all know how KD and Kyrie are best buddies, but in his mind, Skip believes that a part of Durant just wanted this entire saga to end:

“Just a guess: There has to be part of Kevin Durant – maybe a pretty big part – that's thinking, ‘I wish he'd opted out so I could be done with him,'” Bayless wrote in his tweet.

That's another hot take from the one and only Skip Bayless, and in truth, we do not expect anything less from him.

Previous reports suggested that Durant was willing to stay with the Nets even if Kyrie left. In this light, there could be some truth behind Skip's claim here. Irving has brought so much drama to Brooklyn over the past couple of years, and you have to wonder if KD has grown tired of all this.
