Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie had a front row view as he tried to bother Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis' potential game-winning 3-point attempt on Tuesday night. Fortunately for Dinwiddie and the Nets, AD came up short on his triple try and Brooklyn pulled off the stunner and escaped Staples Center with a 104-102 win.
After the game, Dinwiddie spoke about what he saw as Davis launched the shot and expressed his relief that the two-way superstar's game-winning attempt drew iron, per Malika Andrews of ESPN.
Spencer Dinwiddie on his vantage point of this Davis attempt:
“I’d be lying if I said when I turned around and saw him butt naked, I was like ‘OH!’ But then he missed and I was like, ‘YESSSS!’” https://t.co/gGeGv1xspf

Had Davis made the shot, Dinwiddie's 18-foot go-ahead bucket 28 seconds prior, along with Brooklyn's gutsy effort throughout the entire contest, would have gone to waste. Fortunately, lady luck was on their side as Davis knocked down a game-tying triple on Los Angeles' previous possession. It was practically the same play, with LeBron James setting up the Chicago native for a three.

Luckily on the second and more crucial go-round, Davis' wide-open look just did not drop. The Nets secured win no. 2 after the surprising dismissal of former head coach Kenny Atkinson.
Dinwiddie top-scored for Brooklyn with 23 points on 7-of-17 shooting, while converting on all of his eight free-throw attempts. Meanwhile, Davis finished with 26 points and went 4-of-8 from long range. LeBron James top-scored for Los Angeles with 29 points, but just missed 14th triple-double of the season had AD's shot gone down.
Tuesday's win was definitely a morale-booster for the Nets, especially after a pretty tumultuous weekend that saw them see Jacque Vaughn take over as interim coach.
