The Brooklyn Nets reportedly have an interest in trading for New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday this offseason, according to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy. The reported trade package would include Spencer Dinwiddie though, and that's not sitting well with him.

The Nets are going to be title contenders next season with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving leading the way. Some pundits believe Brooklyn needs to acquire a third star — such as Jrue Holiday for example — next to Irving and Durant to fully compete for a championship, especially since they'll have a rookie head coach leading the way in Steve Nash.

However, it's worth mentioning that Spencer Dinwiddie has said multiple times he believes the Nets already have a third star in Caris LeVert. Durant also recently said he thinks LeVert can be that third dynamic scorer next to him and Irving, so it will be interesting to see what Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks decides to do.

For the sake of discussion, though, let's say the Nets do somehow acquire Holiday from the Pelicans. The team could move Irving to shooting guard and would have one of the best defenders in the NBA at the point guard spot in Holiday.

With the Pelicans this season, Holiday averaged 19.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game in 61 starts. New Orleans, however, missed the playoffs after playing terribly during the seeding games at Walt Disney World.

The Nets, who got swept by the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs, can't wait to see Durant and Irving in action together next season. Only time will tell if Dinwiddie, and LeVert for that matter, will get to enjoy the ride with KD and Uncle Drew.
