Brooklyn Nets big man Jarrett Allen is quite acquainted to the back-to-the-basket art of basketball. Meaning, if he's given the choice, he's going to throw it down on his defender
or in this case, defenders.

A fundamentally-sound asset for the Nets, Jarrett Allen makes his strongest impact in the paint on any given night. He's currently averaging 11.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game in his second season with the Nets.

The 20-year-old big man posted 15 points, 11 boards and one block in Brooklyn's six-point win against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

It appears that the Nets are surging at just the right time of the year, and back-to-back victories against the Dallas Mavericks and Cavs can corroborate that.

In Monday's 127-88 win over the Mavs, guard Caris LeVert played a major role for the Nets.

“I think we wanted to change something up, do something different. Him coming off the bench or starting, he told me this morning, `I really don't care, Coach, as long as I get my minutes,” head coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters of LeVert on Monday, who was the team's leading scorer when he got hurt. “He got his minutes.”

LeVert pieced together 18 points and Spencer Dinwiddie finished with 16 on a night the Nets shuffled their starting lineup. However, the bench effort was marvelous. The 39-point margin was their biggest victory at home and tied their biggest victory overall since moving from New Jersey in 2012.

Brooklyn improved to 34-33 after Wednesday's win. Now, they will be working on wrapping up their regular season's slate of games with a record over .500, as well as booking a trip to the postseason to cap it all off.
