Billy Zane will star as the legendary actor in a new biopic, Waltzing with Brando, and he looks dead-on like him.

CBR reported that some new photos of Zane as the Godfather star are now out because the actor shared them on his social channels. The resemblance is uncanny and makes you do a double-take.

Photos of Billy Zane as Marlon Brando

The photos feature the Titanic actor have a caption that reads, “2nd Batch of pics from #waltzingwithbrandothemovie burning a hole in my archive…Had to share now the cats’ out of the bag. The production team were so on point. Thank you all team WWB!”

The new film will be about how “movie star Marlon Brando recruits a Los Angeles architect to build the world’s first ecologically perfect retreat on a small, uninhabitable island in Tahiti.” It’s set in the late ’60s and early ’70s when  Brando purchased the property in the South Pacific.

The photos feature him with a girl wrapped around him, the actor on the beach, in a director’s chair, staring at the water, and walking along the ocean in an open shirt and wearing a hat. Can you tell Zane and Brando apart?

Recently, he spoke with Deadline about the role and discussed some background about the actor.

“When they called him [Brando] about the gangster movie, he did it to fund what they were trying to create on Tetiaroa,” Zane said, about The Godfather.

“Back then no one would touch causes,” he said of the late film star’s activism. “He championed civil rights, he marched with Dr. Martin Luther King. He walked the walk for civil rights; he did it for Indigenous rights. What no one knows about is what he did for the environment as an activist and the foresight he had on what in fact would [become] a climate crisis.”

Regarding the movie, Zane said, “It’s a love letter to Tahiti and him and his passion.”

Billy is known for many major roles, including as the millionaire Caledon Hockley in James Cameron’s 1997 movie Titanic. He also appeared in The Believer opposite Ryan Gosling, as the neo-fascist Curtis Zampf.

On television, the star appeared in Charmed as the ex-demon Drake and played Christina Applegate’s ex-boyfriend on Samantha Who. He also played himself in the hit Prime Video series The Boys.

Brando was known for his roles in A Streetcar Named Desire, Julius Caesar, The Wild One, and many other legendary films. He passed away in 2004 at the age of 80.

As for Waltzing with Brando, Bill Fishman wrote and directed the movie. It’s based on the book Waltzing with Brando: Planning a Paradise in Tahiti, written by Bernard Judge. The cast includes Tia Carrere, Jon Heder, Richard Dreyfuss, Alaina Huffman, Rob Corddry, and Camile Razat.
