Former UCLA head coach Jim Mora has grabbed a lot of headlines recently with his comments about former quarterback Josh Rosen. While Mora said Rosen was the top quarterback in the whole draft class, he also said the young “millennial” needs to be “challenged intellectually” or he might get bored.

Luckily for Rosen, former UCLA offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch did not add any damning critique when he was asked about the former Bruin in an interview with SiriusXM. He was instead highly complimentary of Rosen, saying he made both coaches and players around him better.

“Some people are referring to his intellect or the background that he started as a tennis player and became a football player, but in terms of coaching him he was great to coach,” Fisch said. “I enjoyed the meeting room every single day. He makes coaches better and he makes the players around him better based on his knowledge and how you’ve really got to work to make sure you’re stimulating his brain as well.”

Fisch also tried to dismiss the notion that Rosen isn’t completely committed to football as he made the case that Rosen loves the game based on how hard he worked during their time together in Westwood.

At this point, it’s hard to know exactly what the real deal is surrounding Rosen’s attitude, which is the big red flag on him. There are probably a lot of truths to what both Mora and Fisch have said about him. However, no one will truly be sure until they actually see him on a week to week basis this upcoming season.
