The NFL Draft is only days away meaning time is running short for players to sell themselves to teams they hope will draft them. Most of them are taking advantage of the time and opportunities they get to make sure teams know what they are about when it comes to the game.

Take Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, for example.

In the first installment of his online documentary, “Behind Baker,” he made a proclamation many have found interesting, to say the least, via Pro Football Talk.

“You’ve got to have fun with it, but I’ve got to keep my head on straight at the same time, addressing the people who say I have off-the-field issues,” Mayfield said. “This is a moment I’ve been dreaming of for so long. I’m finally here. I want to go No. 1 overall.”

Skeptics will try to use this against him and say he’s arrogant. But what do they expect him to say?

Here he is, the Heisman Trophy winner, and easily one of the most exciting players in college football. If he doesn’t want to go No. 1 overall, then what's the point as a competitor?

While it is the kind of thing every player wants and dreams about, it will more than likely not happen for him. His name has come up as one of five quarterbacks expected to go in the first round. But it has never come up as the first to go or the first pick in the draft. Most of the talk has centered around him being the fifth QB taken in the first round.

But go ahead and dream Baker Mayfield. We aren’t mad at you.
