The wait is over for Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis. With the 13th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles have selected Davis. After trading with the Houston Texans, Philadelphia gets their guy.

A mammoth of a man, Davis stands 6-feet 6 inches and weighs in at 350 pounds. ‘Immovable object' and ‘large human' are phrases that get thrown around when speaking about the 22-year-old, who helped the Bulldogs field the nation's third-best defense in terms of rushing yards allowed per game.

Davis excels at drawing double teams and is an expert run defender, though he is also adept at pushing the pocket when defending against the pass. The Bulldogs star totaled five tackles for loss and made 41 straight tackles without a miss in the 2021 season. Simply put, Davis doesn't miss when he gets his arms around a ball carrier.

With a career run-blocking grade of 88.6 by Pro Football Focus, which was the highest mark among all SEC defensive tackles, Davis will be a rock along the x team's defensive line.

He has the potential to be an impactful run defender but also has the pass-rushing chops to ensure he doesn't come off the field on third downs. In today's pass-heavy NFL, that's even more of a plus.

This is a huge pick for the Eagles, as the team now has a stud defensive lineman for their defense. The secondary was elite last season and they needed some help in the front seven. So, the front office made sure to trade up and secure Jordan Davis in the NFL Draft.

Congratulations to Davis and his family.
