Miami Hurricanes defensive end, and projected top NFL Draft prospect, Greg Rousseau opts out of the upcoming college football season.

How do we know this? Tickle me pink, call me Nancy, and let me let you know I’m glad you asked. ESPN NFL reporter Field Yates took to the mean streets of Twitter to relay the information to the public.

A rush edge for the Hurricanes, as Yates notes in his finely crafted tweet, Greg Rousseau is likely the top pass rusher in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It’s also worth noting, while it isn’t said in the report, if he’s opting out of the college football season, it likely means it’s inevitable he declares for the NFL Draft.

The Hurricanes losing Greg Rousseau to an opt out, and likely the NFL, is a big deal. Nonetheless, they’re not the only football program dealing with loss on Thursday. Penn State lost Michah Parsons to not only that, but a clear announcement that he’s headed to the National Football League.

Everything is fluid, but with opt outs happening in both the NFL and college football, we’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.

As for now, though, the Hurricanes will have to plan for life without the insanely talented Greg Rousseau.
