Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, posted a very strong reaction to the Kyle Rittenhouse not guilty verdict Friday. Kaepernick shared his thoughts on twitter.

Kaepernick did not mince words or shy away from his feelings.

“We just witnessed a system built on white supremacy validate the terroristic acts of a white supremacist. This only further validates the need to abolish our current system. White supremacy cannot be reformed.”

Those are about as strong of words as you find on the subject. Earlier Friday, Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges after he shot and killed two people and injuring another.

Following the shooting of another black man, Jacob Blake, by a police officer, there was social unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old police enthusiast, traveled across state lines with an AR-style semiautomatic rifle. He was supposedly answering a call to help protect businesses amid the protests.

Following a confrontation, Rittenhouse shot and killed two men, and injured a third. Rittenhouse was seen on the ground being kicked prior to the shootings. He is also seen walking past arriving police with his rifle in his hands after shooting three people. Many people have argued that if he were a black man, that would never happen. He was acquitted of five charges, the most important First Degree Intentional Homicide.
