Houston Texans and impending free agent wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has reportedly been arrested for vehicular assault.

According to the CBS Denver affiliate, Thomas was arrested on the charges stemming from an accident that happened on February 16th of this year just outside of Denver. Police say Thomas was driving over 70 mph in a 30 mph zone with two people inside when he lost control on Auraria Parkway near 12th Street and rolled the car.

The full description of the accident is pretty gruesome:

“Thomas was speeding at 12:20 a.m. on Auraria Parkway right before the crash. His car went off the road, went over a raised median, wound up in the northbound lanes of 12th Street and then hit a raised median on 12th and “became airborne.” The vehicle flew over the southbound lanes of 12th and landed in the grassy area near Speer Boulevard, where it then rolled several times before coming to a stop.”

Demaryius Thomas and one other passenger suffered minor injuries, and a female passenger suffered more serious injuries. All three were hospitalized as a result of the accident.

The sheriff's office confirmed that Demaryius Thomas was scheduled to appear in court to be arraigned on Thursday morning, and that he was taken into custody earlier in the week regarding the case.

Furthermore, according to the sheriff's office, the charges filed against Thomas are considered felony charges. He's also been charged with two misdemeanor, lesser charges: reckless driving and no proof of insurance.
