The NFL has informed all 32 teams that in-person team activities will be prohibited this coming Monday and Tuesday, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

This move by the NFL comes after COVID-19 cases have risen throughout the league and in America as well.

As Pelissero noted, most NFL teams don’t practice on Mondays or Tuesdays, so players aren’t in the building as much.

The COVID-19 virus is wreaking havoc on the NFL right now. Seemingly every week, someone in the league either tests positive for the virus or comes in close contact with someone who did. The latest player to contract the virus was reigning MVP and Baltimore Ravens superstar QB Lamar Jackson, who won’t play in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ravens-Steelers game, which was supposed to be played on Thanksgiving evening, will now take place on Tuesday, Dec. 1. A number of Ravens players have been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The coronavirus continues to be a silent killer and the NFL is trying new ways to prevent the virus from spreading.

In hindsight, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell should have never signed off on the 2020 season taking place. With teams traveling city to city on planes and playing a contact sport, everyone in the sports world knew players in the league were going to contract COVID-19.

However, money talks and Goodell couldn’t afford to cancel the season since the NFL would have taken a huge hit financially.
