Marshawn Lynch and Marcus Peters are both from Oakland, California and have done a great job of giving back to their hometown since coming into the league. They were back at it again earlier this week, throwing a free carnival for kids according to Jodi Hernandez of NBC Bay Area.

In a video posted to Hernandez's Twitter account, it appears the carnival had a rock climbing wall, food, a trampoline and a giant slide among other things.

This event was also put on with the help of the Oakland Police Department and it was an event that also was meant to help bring the citizens closer to the police. Oakland police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick said it's important the community trusts the police, and this event was another way they hope they could accomplish that.

“People trust people. They don’t trust you because of a title or stars or a uniform; they trust you because they believe in you,” Kirkpatrick said via NBC Bay Area.

Bobby Hoofkin who is also with the Oakland police department believes it was a good chance for the police to show that they are with the citizens and not against them.

“The community is not going anywhere, law-enforcement is not going anywhere,” Hookfin added. “We have to erase this ‘us against them.' It’s a we … we are in this together.”

Lynch and Peters will continue to give back to the community where they are from, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see a couple more of these pop up before the summer is over.
