There will be a Sunday night game in Week 17 of the 2018 NFL season. Usually, the NFL does not schedule a night game in the last Sunday of the final regular season week, but it’s going to make an exception this time around, as the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans have their Week 17 meeting moved to the prime time slot, as noted by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
It’s not a difficult decision to make for the NFL, as the rematch between the Colts and the Titans is a virtual playoff game, with the winner reserving a slot in the postseason. As for the loser, it will go home empty-handed.
Through the first 16 weeks of the NFL season, both Indianapolis and Tennessee have identical 9-6 records. The two squads entered Week 16 with the same 8-6 slates, but both also took care of business in their respective assignments on Sunday to add suspense to the final week of the regular season.
The winner of that matchup could also come out on top of the AFC South if the Houston Texans, who are currently pacing the division with a 10-5 record, lose to the Jaguars.
The Colts crushed Tennessee, 38-10, at home back in Week 11.
Indianapolis has won two of their last three road games, while Tennessee has won all of its last four contests at Nissan Stadium.
