There is an NFL trade! The Houston Texans are sending edge rusher Shaq Lawson to the New York Jets for draft compensation, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Jets are bringing in Shaq Lawson in an ironic NFL trade. Carl Lawson suffered a season-ending injury, and the Jets went to the market to find a viable replacement for him. Enter Shaq.

In return, the Texans are receiving a sixth-round pick, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

A late-round pick for Shaq Lawson is a good pick-up for the Jets, and it is evident that new head coach Robert Saleh doesn't want to finish at the bottom of the NFL in his first season as the head man.

Shaq Lawson spent 2020 with the Miami Dolphins, totaling four sacks in 14 games and was with the Buffalo Bills for the first four seasons prior to that after he was selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft after a stellar career at Clemson.

So, the Jets replace one Lawson with another Lawson in a bit of a funny turn of events, but certainly Shaq Lawson can provide Saleh and company with an NFL veteran and an edge rusher who is still capable of getting after the quarterback.
