Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there have been a few NFL games this season which have been postponed and played at a later date.
Thus far, no games have been outright canceled. Should that occur, though, NFL owners have approved a proposal to add two playoff teams, with eight in each conference, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Seemingly every week, someone in the NFL has tested positive for COVID-19. This was to be expected since teams are traveling and football is a contact sport.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is among four members of the Pittsburgh Steelers to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Roethlisberger had close contact with tight end Vance McDonald, who returned a positive COVID-19 test on Monday.
As a result of McDonald’s positive test, the Dallas Cowboys have canceled Wednesday’s practice since they played the Steelers in Week 9.
It’s going to be interesting to see if any NFL games get canceled this season. Hopefully, none do and fans get to enjoy the games on their televisions. However, nothing can be guaranteed, especially in this crazy year that is 2020.
The New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers are tied for first place in the NFC with a record of 6-2. The Steelers, meanwhile, are 8-0 and atop the AFC standings. They are the only undefeated team in the NFL.
