Week 13 of the NFL season is here! The Indianapolis Colts take on the Houston Texans in an AFC West matchup. It's time to continue our NFL odds series with a Colts-Texans prediction and pick.

The Colts are coming off a very well-played game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. Despite the loss, the Colts put up 31 points but gave up a touchdown to Leonard Fournette with 20 seconds left. That game could've gone to overtime where the Colts almost beat the defending champs. After starting the season 1-4, the Colts are now 6-6 and sit just outside of the final playoff spot. If they beat the Texans this weekend which they should, then they put themselves in a great position to compete for a playoff spot this season.

The Houston Texans are coming off a bad loss to the New York Jets. That was just a horrible game to watch for both teams but the Jets snuck away with their 3rd win of the season. One thing that went well for the Texans is that the Tyrod Taylor and Brandin Cooks connection is very good. If those two can continue to play well together then that is a good sign moving forward. But as of now and this season, it's going to take a lot more than that to win games.

Let's see how FanDuel set the Colts-Texans odds for Week 13.

NFL Odds: Colts-Texans Odds

Indianapolis Colts: -10 (-110)

Houston Texans: +10 (-110)

Why The Colts Could Cover The Spread

With the way the Colts are playing right now, they should cover this spread pretty easily. 10 points is a lot to cover in the NFL but the Texans are on opposite sides of the spectrum right now. Jonathon Taylor is establishing himself as the top running back this season and there isn't a defense that can stop them. The Texans are only averaging 14.9 points per game this year which is not a good sign. The Colts' defense should have no problem stopping them and Darius Leonard is also playing very well right now. The Colts are playing their best football at the right time and are surging to the playoffs. Look for the Colts to possibly win their division with the Tennessee Titans losing a lot of their top players.

Why The Texans Could Cover The Spread

10 points is definitely doable for the Texans but it isn't going to be an easy task. Taylor is going to need to play very well but more importantly, the offensive line will need to give him time. He's forced out of the pocket quite a bit and the Colts' defensive line is very good with DeForest Buckner leading the way. That is something to keep an eye on because if the Colts create enough pressure the Texans' offensive line won't hold up. I already expect Jonathon Taylor to dominate the run-game and so that isn't going to give the Texans much time on offense. The Texans do have the stars on offense to put up points but it's going to take an all-out effort to cover this spread.

Final Colts-Texans Prediction & Pick

If you are thinking about betting on this game, I would consider taking the Colts -10 (-110) in this one. Anything can happen during the course of an NFL game. We have seen games finish closer than usual but I don't think this game will be close. The Colts are playing great and Carson Wentz is finding his mark. The Colts came into the season as playoff contenders and they are playing like it now. I'm not sure if the Texans will do offensively so the over/under could be a risky bet.

Final Colts-Texans Prediction & Pick: Colts -10 (-110)
