Week 11 of the NFL season is upon us. The Detroit Lions face the Cleveland Browns in an inter-conference matchup. It's time to continue our NFL odds series with a Lions-Browns prediction and pick.

The Lions didn't lose last week! Although, they didn't win either. The first tie of the season came between the Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. The game looked ugly. It was unclear on if either of the two teams wanted to seriously win because of all the mental errors. Jared Goff didn't throw an interception and D'Andre Swift rushed for 130 yards, so there is something to look forward to.

The Cleveland Browns, however, do not have much to look forward to this week. They will be playing a winless team, but the Browns are coming off a 45-7 blowout loss to the New England Patriots in Week 10. They looked all kinds of bad on Sunday. The offensive line couldn't block for Baker Mayfield and the defense allowed 452 total yards and 30 first downs. The Browns now sit at 5-5 and have a lot of work to do to get themselves where they want to be.

Why The Lions Could Cover The Spread

This is not an easy game for the Lions to win at all. However, with the spread being where it's at, it is very possible the Lions cover. Detroit played their best against the Steelers but it didn't result in a win. They defended well even though they didn't face starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. If the Lions play as well as they did against the Browns, I can see them keeping it close for most of the game.

The Lions are 5-4 against the spread this season. Despite being the worst team in the NFL, they seem to beat the odds. The Lions give up a massive 29 points per game this season. The Browns offense averages just over 23 per game, but the offense is not playing well as of late. If the Lions' defense plays well I expect Detroit to cover this giant spread. This is actually a favorable matchup for the Lions at this point in the season.

Why The Browns Could Cover The Spread

The Browns should be able to cover this spread. The offensive line is among the best in the league even though it didn't show it last week. Baker Mayfield is struggling and he doesn't have the weapons to exceed current expectations. Most thought that the Browns would win the AFC North division and return to the playoffs. As of now, that doesn't seem likely because Cleveland is playing their worst football right now.

The Browns are 5-5 against the spread this year. Betting on the Lions has proven to be more successful in this manner, so that is another reason to be cautious on this one. The Browns shouldn't have a problem winning this game, it's just a matter of how many points it will take to do it. Mayfield will need to step up tremendously if the Browns want to cover this spread.

Final Lions-Browns Prediction & Pick

I am going with the underdog in this matchup. The Browns are coming off a horrible loss and the Lions seem to be slowly improving. With the spread being where it's at, I am taking the Lions this week. I expect the Lions to keep this game close for most of it and even have a chance to win it in the fourth quarter. If Goff doesn't commit any turnovers then it will boost their chances. I expect the Browns to win this game, just not by more than a touchdown.

Final Lions-Browns Prediction & Pick: Lions +12.5 (-112)
