Gerald McCoy might already know where he'll continue his playing career. The rest of us, though, won't find out until next week. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the veteran defensive tackle will “take the weekend” to decide whether to sign with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, or Carolina Panthers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released the nine-year veteran on May 20th. McCoy’s days with the team that drafted him all the way back in 2010 have appeared numbered since the beginning of the offseason, when it became clear the Buccaneers wanted to go in another direction at defensive tackle rather than pay him $13 million this season.

McCoy took his first free agent visit, with the Browns, last week. Though there were murmurs he would leave Cleveland with a contract in place, and team officials subsequently spoke glowingly of him, McCoy ultimately decided to meet with additional teams before making a decision on his future. He visited the Baltimore Ravens, undergoing a major shift on defense, earlier this week, and met with the Carolina Panthers on Friday.

A three-time First Team All-Pro, McCoy had 28 tackles, six tackles for loss, six sacks, and 21 quarterback hits last season, failing to make the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2012. Though his time as one of the most disruptive defenders in football is over, the 31-year-old McCoy will nevertheless provide a sizable impact for the team with which he ends up signing – whether as a full-time starter or rotational player along the defensive line, and certainly as a situational pass-rusher.
