Ever since the 2019 NFL season concluded, everyone has shared their opinion on where Tom Brady will play next season. On Thursday morning's episode of “Get Up” on ESPN, Jeff Darlington said that he would be “stunned” if Brady returned to the New England Patriots in 2020, per Adam Schefter.

Earlier this week, Darlington went on Schefter's podcast to discuss Brady's impending free agency. While highlighting the possible teams that could sign him, Darlington ranked the Patriots as the third-likeliest team to land Brady for 2020.

Darlington put the Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders as viable landing spots ahead of the Patriots. Now, it appears that New England's chances of retaining Tom Brady are even dimmer.

For the past 20 seasons in the NFL, Brady has been with the Patriots, winning six Super Bowls. To most people, Brady is the undisputed greatest quarterback of all time. However, in 2019, New England faltered on offense due to the weapons—or lack thereof—surrounding Brady.

The Patriots found themselves in unfamiliar territory this season as they failed to advance to the AFC Championship Game for the first time since 2009. After a disappointing finish to the season, Brady is set to test free agency for the first time in his career.

Despite turning 43 years old this year, Brady is going to have multiple teams clamoring to sign him. Up to this point, the Titans, Raiders, and others have emerged as possible suitors.

Most people have assumed that Brady is going to return to the Patriots and end his career in Foxborough. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and there's a legitimate chance he's headed elsewhere in 2020.
