The Baltimore Ravens have lined up Joe Flacco more and more at wide receiver over the last few weeks with Lamar Jackson getting more snaps at quarterback. At least one person thinks Flacco needs to improve his wideout technique: his wife.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, Flacco said his wife told him that he needs to look more interested when he is lining up on the outside.
“My wife gave me crap the one day, told me I need to look more interested out there,” Flacco said Wednesday via ESPN. “But I'm just trying to stay out of it. I'm not comfortable out there. I don't need to get too creative.”
Flacco has been told by coaches to stay out of the play when he is lined up out wide, which is why he looks disinterested.

“You can see me. I'm out there just standing,” Flacco said. “I really just try to stay out of the way of everything. That's what I'm told to do. That's what I'm doing.”
Coach John Harbaugh has said before that if no one covers Flacco they will throw him the ball, but otherwise they won't get too creative with him outside.
When Flacco was asked if he wanted to catch any passes he chuckled and said he sure hopes not. Flacco has been supportive of the packages that the Ravens have introduced with Jackson at quarterback and he seems like he will continue to support them, as long as he doesn't have to become a full-time receiver.
