Khalil Mack was limited in his Chicago Bears debut, just as head coach Matt Nagy said. The star edge defender played just 70 percent of the defense’s snaps in Week 1 as the Bears were still unsure of his conditioning after missing a lot of time during his offseason holdout with the Raiders.

But after seeing Mack in action against the Packers, Nagy looks set to give his new defensive superstar a lot more snaps in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks if Mack feels up for it.

“We really didn’t know exactly where he was going to be,” Nagy said, via the Chicago Tribune. “You saw how well he could play and what his motor was like. He told us what his motor was like, but we weren’t sure. Then we saw it. Now we’re hoping we can keep growing from that. As long as he feels good, let’s go.”

Even with no practice time with his new team, Mack showed just what a force he can be on the Bears’ defense. He absolutely terrorized the Packers’ O-line which couldn’t block him — just like teammate Akiem Hicks predicted — as he delivered a strip-sack and pick-six in the first half alone.

With a couple of practices now under his belt this week, Mack should be set to handle a heavier workload like he’s normally accustomed to. That should see him have another impactful night against the Seahawks and their offensive line, which has been one of the worst in the league for the past few years.
