Buffalo Bills rookie linebacker Tyrel Dodson has been arrested for domestic violence.

According to TMZ (via Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith), Dodson's arrest stems from a fight with his girlfriend in Scottsdale, Ariz. on May 25.

According to the police report, Dodson threw up in his girlfriend's bedroom after drinking too much, resulting in an argument during which Dodson shoved her against a wall and both Dodson and his girlfriend slapped each other.

The report says she later locked herself inside her bathroom and told him to leave, but he broke down the door, causing the door to hit her in the head.

Authorities slapped Dodson with three misdemeanor charges pertaining to domestic violence, disorderly conduct, and damage to property, per TMZ.

BuffaloNews.com's Jay Skurski reports Dodson “was released on his own recognizance.” He cites a police report saying Dodson denies physically confronting his girlfriend. He told police she became upset when she read a text message on his mobile phone.

Dodson also claims taking just $1,000 from the money they shared (which his manager eventually returned to the woman), per Skurski. After police escorted him from The Mint AZ nightclub, he showed them a red mark on his cheek. He claims this was the end result of the woman slapping him.

The Bills issued a statement to TMZ saying they “are aware of the incident involving Tyrel Dodson last weekend.”

Buffalo signed the 20-year-old Dodson as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M three weeks ago. Smith writes “it wouldn't be surprising to see the Bills cut him soon.”
