NFL Hall of Famer Jim Kelly made a bold prediction about the Buffalo Bills. In an appearance on The Zach Gelb Show (via BillsWire), Kelly claimed the Bills will win the AFC East division now that Tom Brady is gone.

“If they don’t, then something’s wrong,” Kelly said. “Tom Brady is not there to block you anymore, so that, to me, is huge.”

“Now that Brady is gone, I definitely do think that the Bills are the team to beat, even though you look at the Jets, they’re getting better, Miami and Tua (Tagovailoa) coming in. I think they’re going to be better,” Kelly added. “And of course, Belichick is going to have New England ready to play. We’ll see what happens at the quarterback position in New England, but right now, there’s no doubt that the Bills are probably favored to win the AFC East and if they don’t, then they must have some serious injuries because they have all the ingredients it takes to move on in the playoffs.”

The Patriots have won 11 straight AFC East titles and 17 during Brady's tenure with the team. However, this past season, the Bills certainly made the Patriots run for their money.

Nevertheless, now that Brady is gone, there's no doubt the Bills are favorites to win the AFC East. The Bills showed plenty of promise in their Wild Card playoff game loss against the Houston Texans. Despite losing in a heartbreaking fashion, the Bills will certainly be a dominant team for years to come.

Kelly, who played for Buffalo from 1986-1996, was the last Bills quarterback to lead the team to an AFC East title.
