Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott thinks that rookie quarterback Josh Allen is continuing to make progress each week during his first season in the NFL. The Bills haven't been able to find much success this season in posting a 5-9 record to this point in the season, but Allen's progression has certainly been entertaining to watch.

While the former Wyoming star has had his struggles, his ability to pick up significant yardage on the ground has made him a difficult matchup for opposing teams. That's one of several reasons why his head coach is pleased with the overall progress that's being made week by week.

Here's what McDermott had to say about Allen's recent strides, courtesy of Bills insider Chris Brown:

McDermott: Josh Allen looks like a different QB just from the Miami game. The game is slowing down for him. He’s made progress every week and it’s encouraging.

Allen has thrown for 1,633 yards and six touchdowns this season, but he also has nine interceptions. It's his rushing stats that really stand out, as he's racked up 506 yards on the ground for six touchdowns.

There's no doubt that the young quarterback still has ways to go in terms of his accuracy in the passing attack, but it's equally noticeable that he could be a very special talent due to the added rushing talents. The Bills hope that he continues to showcase his skills over the next few weeks, as Buffalo will finish up the regular season with games against the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.
