The Buffalo Bills' offense in 2022 has been… well, confusing at times. Their showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the playoffs showed that they have what it takes to run with the best of the best. However, for every performance like that, they've also delivered some duds… such as their game against the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars.
Because of that, the Bills could be looking for ways to help out Josh Allen on offense. One of their main targets, according to some rumors, could be Evan Engram. Dan Duggan of The Athletic wrote that since the Giants are unlikely to match offers for Engram, he could be headed out of New York.
Evan, the Giants' first-round pick in 2017, has shown flashes of brilliance in his career, leading him to be a much-coveted asset today. However, one consistent problem that he had was with drops. Engram seemingly had stone hands. The Bills could be hoping that playing with one of the best quarterbacks in the league could alleviate this problem of Engram.
Article Continues BelowOne crucial factor to this rumor though is the presence of Dawson Knox. The Bills' current starting tight end, Knox was Allen's favorite target last season. He was a great safety valve in case their wide receivers couldn't get open, or if they needed a red zone score. Perhaps the franchise just wants an insurance policy in case Knox leaves in the future.
With the Bills looking to build upon an exciting 2021 season, they are looking at ways of bolstering their team. Getting a viable backup to Knox in case of injury and/or free agency is a great way of preparing for anything that could happen.
