Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs was spotted rocking custom cleats inspired by the comedy series Chappelle's Show ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, via Sporting News.

The cleats were shown with the famous catchphrase “I'm Rick James, b—-.” The quote originated during a June 2004 stand-up performance in Sacramento, California. Comedian Dave Chappelle left the stage due to audience members interrupting the show and responded by shouting, “I'm Rick James, b—-!,” which became a catchphrase from the series' popular “Rick James” sketch.

After a few minutes, Chappelle returned and continued by saying, “The show is ruining my life.” He stated that he disliked working “20 hours a day” and that the popularity of the show was making it difficult for him to continue his stand-up career which was “the most important thing” to him.

Rick James was an American singer-songwriter who was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, where Stefon Diggs is currently playing at. James' mainstream success had peaked with the release of his album entitled Glow in 1985 and his appearance on the popular television show, The A-Team.

In 2004, James's career returned to mainstream pop culture after he appeared in an episode of Chappelle's Show. The segment involved a Charlie Murphy True Hollywood Stories, a style skit that resembled James' wild lifestyle in the 1980s. He garnered support and earned the public's renewed interest in his music and went on to return to perform on the road again. James died later that year from heart failure at age 56.

On the field, Stefon Diggs and the Bills are looking forward to improve on their 6-2 record and aiming for their third-straight victory at the expense of the streaking Seahawks.
