The Carolina Panthers started off the season strong but crashed down and finished 5-12–meaning they only won two games after their 3-0 star. Despite that, however, there are a few standout players who can certainly propel them in the long run. In this post, we take a loot at the Panthers' 2022 NFL Free Agency targets, more specifically the players they have now that they should not let walk away.
Injuries played an issue for the Panthers' lack of success, as their superstar Christian McCaffery was out for a lot of the season. Quarterback Sam Darnold also missed significant time, and their lack of continuity caused problems offensively.
With that being said, here are the four best players the Panthers must re-sign in 2022 NFL free agency.

4. Matt Paradis
One of the weaknesses of the Panthers this season was their offensive line. Paradis had a solid season before going down with an injury after nine games. He only had one penalty and allowed two sacks.
Paradis is a strong piece on the offensive line, and it is important that they bring him back. Finding a new center can be a daunting task and create a big hole on the roster.
While he will be coming off of a torn ACL, he is still worth signing to a deal.
3. Stephon Gilmore
The Panthers acquired Stephone Gilmore via trade at the deadline, and it was a cheap deal as they only had to give up a 6th round pick. Once considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, he played solidly for them.
While he isn't the same player he used to be, he is still a great corner.
Gilmore had two interceptions and played solid defense on opposing wide receivers. He will likely not be as expensive as expected to retain since he did not play at a Pro Bowl level this season.
2. Donte Jackson
Although Gilmore would be an excellent re-signing, the priority at cornerback is Donte Jackson. Jackson had two interceptions on the season and is a promising young corner.
Jackson didn't have his best season, but he is only 26 and has room to grow. He fits the Panthers' defensive system well and can be a real asset in the secondary moving forward. Signing him to a long-term deal would be a good option to keep the Panthers defense very talented.
1. Haason Reddick
If the Panthers want to continue their defensive success, they need to re-sign Haason Reddick. Reddick had a dominant campaign, posting 11 sacks and forcing two fumbles. His pass-rushing ability is vital for Carolina's defense, which is why the team can't afford to let him walk away.
It will likely be an expensive deal as pass rushers get a ton of money, but he is well worth it. Reddick can continue to be an elite player since he is in the midst of his prime. He may not be a household name, but Reddick has proven to be a high-quality pass rusher over the past two seasons.
Locking him up for the future is a necessary move for the Panthers to make, or they will regret it.
Carolina has numerous decisions to make in the offseason to get their team to the playoffs. They have a talented defense and some quality pieces on offense–though they haven't figured it out yet.
This upcoming offseason will be essential for the team to improve the roster to get them to the postseason.
