Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers are set to host Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers this coming Thursday. It’s a marquee matchup between two teams that are on a roll and is projected to be a more entertaining game than what’s usually shown on a Thursday.
Speaking in front of the media on Tuesday, Roethlisberger fielded questions pertaining to the upcoming showdown with Carolina, but one reporter was rather inclined to know whether Big Ben has any advice for Cam Newton to which the Steelers’ signal-caller had an interesting reply, per Andrew Siciliano of the NFL Network.
Ben Roethlisberger, asked (for some inane reason) if he'd like to give Cam Newton, also a big-body QB, some advice: “I don't need to give him advice, he's Superman.”
If Big Ben does have any helpful advice, he’s probably more willing to share them with Newton after the game and not before their teams clash on the field. Furthermore, Ben Roethlisberger isn’t wrong to say the Newton doesn’t need any tips from him, considering how well the Panthers’ signal-caller is doing thus far this season. Newton enters Thursday’s game with 1,893 passing yards and 15 touchdowns against four interceptions. He also has 342 rushing yards and four rushing scores on 73 carries.
As for Roethlisberger, his focus is on helping Pittsburgh extend its win streak to five games at the expense of the Panthers, who are on a three-game unbeaten run themselves.
