The Carolina Panthers lost their fifth game in a row on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns and after the game, Cam Newton didn't seem to have any answers on how to fix the issues. The Panthers have kept all five games close but haven't been able to make the winning plays late in the games and that is what has frustrated Newton the last few weeks.

“It’s extremely frustrating coming up short each and every week with similar settings and not pushing through. I wish I had the words to say, but I don’t,” Newton said, via Joe Person of The Athletic. “In this league, that’s what it always comes down to — finding ways to keep the game close, to win late in the game. We just haven’t found that way to win in those situations.”

Before this five-game losing streak there was talk about this team being as good as the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints but now they are most likely going to miss the playoffs. Newton was also asked if he thinks resting his shoulder over the final few weeks would help it improve, to which Newton said “no comment.”

For the second week in a row, the Panthers brought in Taylor Heinicke to throw a hail mary pass and that has left a lot of questions about just how healthy his shoulder really is. The Panthers finish off the season with two games against the New Orleans Saints and a game against the Atlanta Falcons and to make the playoffs they will probably need to win out.
