The Carolina Panthers will be trotting out an all-new uniform in 2022 and the new look will set fans in a frenzy. At long last, the Panthers will be able to complete their all-black look after revealing plans to implement a black helmet alongside their all-black uniforms. The helmets will be worn during select games throughout the 2022 NFL season, including in Week 10 against the rival Atlanta Falcons.

The Panthers unveiled the new helmets via Twitter, and they were instantly well-received by fans. Even Panthers players couldn't contain their excitement, with star defensive end Brian Burns expecting the new style to unleash newfound energy within the team.

“Sometimes guys tap into an alter ego depending on what they're wearing,” Burns said via Panthers.com. “Whenever a team wears all black, or black accessories, it just brings out that dog in them, the evil side.”

“When I saw this, I was like, ‘This will be tough.' Especially on defense, they call us the dark side anyway, so it brings it all together.”

Burns and the rest of the Panthers' defense will be embracing the “dark side” nickname with these new uniforms, and you can expect them to hit just a little harder in Week 10 when they travel to Atlanta.

A black-on-black uniform is something Panthers fans have been longing for over the past few years, but the NFL's strict one-helmet policy prevented the team from granting the fans' wishes. Following the rule change during the offseason, the team is finally able to wear the awesome look, though they plan to keep it as a special occurrence, only set to be utilized in their game against the Falcons.
