The Carolina Panthers are looking for answers at quarterback and there is speculation that Cam Newton could be the answer. Panthers head coach did nothing to quell those notions.

While responding to whether or not they have reached out to Cam Newton, Rhule didn't want to talk about hypothetical situations. But he did admit that general manager Scott Fitterer would look at what was “out there.”
The Panthers lost starting quarterback Sam Darnold to a partially fractured scapula in his shoulder. He is expected to be out for at least a few weeks.
Rhule has been very critical of Darnold as of late, with his propensity turning the ball over.
PJ Walker is expected to start Sunday as Carolina travels to Arizona to face the 8-1 Cardinals. Walker has struggled in limited action this season. He was a standout in the renewed version of the XFL a couple of years ago. But that success has not translated to the NFL.
Cam Newton is currently a free agent after the New England Patriots cut him prior to the start of the season. The possibility of Newton joining his former team has some excited.
Former Panthers free safety Tre Boston expressed his thoughts…
GO GET CAM!! Simple!! At least give yourself a shot on Offense! Defense is playing the best I’ve seen since 2015!! Give them a chance while the NFC is down in total! Slide 7th seed and make a run! Does this make sense or am I trippin?! Maybe I am trippin! Tell me who trippin!😏🤔 pic.twitter.com/vLHPEZ09ZH

The Panthers recently signed free agent quarterback Matt Barkley to back up PJ Walker. Neither of those options will get Carolina fans excited. As coach Matt Rhule points out, they have an elite defense and need to simply stop turning the ball over. It remains to be seen whether or not that's something Newton could accomplish.
